Game Recap

The Knights opened up their season with a heartbreaking 1 point loss to Springbrook. Springbrook was able to capitalize on a number of Wheaton’s miscues, which enabled them to steal the victory. The Knights showed a glimpse of being a great team this year with the elimination of those miscues and are poised to have a successful season. The Knights defense was lead by Emari Davis who played very well.

Game Summary

1Q

Led by the strong running of Lovell Djieya the Knights took the opening drive over 70 yards which was capped by Gordan Ekue's 15 yard touchdown on a sweep to the right. Giving the Knights a 6-0 lead as the xtra point sailed wide left. .

2Q

London Lampkin and Bryan Martinez combineded to force a Springbrook fumble in which Lampkin returned for a touchdown giving the Knights a 14-0 lead. However, Springbrook responded with a touchdown of there own making the halftime score 14-7. Kekuta Bah intercepted a pass in the endzone that was tipped by Shavon Cameron to spoil a late attempt by Springbrook to tie the game.

3Q

Russell Hoes hooked up with London Lampkin for a 50 yard TD score to put the Knights up 20-7 as the 2pt try was stopped. Springbrook was able to make the score 20-14 heading into the 4th.

4Q

After an interception by Victory Kipkirui the Knights drive stalled. Springbrook returned the punt over 40 yards setting them up for what was the game winning score. The Knights fought valiantly all night.
