Meet Recap

The Wheaton Wrestling Team dismantled the Blake Bengals Wednesday evening in a lopsided 66-9 victory. The Knights put up an impressive 66 points winning 11 of the 14 match-ups by pin or forfeit. Blake’s 9 points came from 2 tough overtime losses and a decision. The big match of the night was Ronald Velasquez’s win at 170. Ronald was losing to his opponent 10 to 1 when he reversed him in the second period for a pin. The Knights hope to carry this momentum into this weekend as they compete at the 3rd annual Paint Branch Invitational Tournament. Last year’s tournament was augmented due to snow. Keep your fingers crossed that the forecast for this weekend doesn’t affect the schedule for this year.
