In an exciting game the Knights squeezed by with a 2 point victory Friday night at home against rival Kennedy High School. The Cavaliers had multiple chances with under 40 seconds to play in the game to attempt to tie the game, but the Knights defense stood strong to maintain the two point lead. The Knights trailed the whole first half but took over and extended their lead to as much as 8 points in the second half before holding on for the victory.

Freshman guard Aubrey McNeil led the Knights with 21 points including four 3-pointers in the game. McNeil’s strong first quarter including a 3-point shot as time expired kept the Knights in the game as he had 10 of the Knights 11 first quarter points. Sophomore Yabsira Getahun led the Knights comeback in the second quarter as he had 9 of his 16 points in that frame. After his first game not starting, freshman Michael Girma had all 14 of his points in the second half which ended up sealing the victory for the Knights. Sophomore Joshua Murray secured many key rebounds in the second half which helped the Knights ultimately prevail.

The Knights final game before the holiday break will be on Thursday December 20th at Paint Branch High School. The Knights will take on the Panthers JV Boys Basketball team at 5:30 p.m. The Knights will take a record of 4-1 into Thursday night’s contest.
