In a game with a number of lead changes, the Knights fell to the Blair Blazers on Tuesday evening. Blair was able to clinch the game by making free-throws and having a 23 point fourth quarter. The Knights led by 3 points at the end of the third quarter but could not maintain their lead.
Sophomore Abenezer Getachew led a surge in the third quarter when he scored 7 consecutive points to give the Knights a lead. He finished with 12 points, including free-throws in the fourth quarter to keep the game close. Sophomore Joshua Murray also contributed with 10 points while leading the team in rebounding. Murray made a huge play in the fourth quarter, a steal and lay-up to cut the Blair lead to two points. Another clutch play late in the game was freshman Anthony Gourdain’s first three-point shot of the season to cut the Blair lead with under one minute remaining in the game.
The Knights next game will be against Bethesda Chevy-Chase High School at Wheaton High School on Friday January 18th. The tip-off time is scheduled for 5:30pm.
