The Knights put up a great fight against a tough Walter Johnson JV team on Monday evening. The Knights got off to a quick 8-0 start in the first quarter forcing the Wildcats to take a timeout. The Wildcats took the lead by halftime and ended up hanging on. The Knights cut the game to 4 points in the closing seconds before Walter Johnson hit free throws late to secure the loss for the Knights.
A Wheaton comeback was sparked in the fourth quarter by freshman Aubrey McNeil who scored 8 points in the final frame and finished the game with 14 points including four three-pointers. Sophomore Yabsira Getahun chipped in 13 points including 3 three-point shots. Freshman Lamar Logan contributed with 4 points but was very active defensively including a clutch steal in the final minute.
The Knights have two more games on the schedule in the coming week with road games occurring on Wednesday January 9th at Whitman High School and at Einstein High School on Friday January 11th. The tip-off time for both games will be 5:30pm.
